Rifinn Drone System

Drone systems have taken over the world and gone beyond the hobbyist. When MIL Lab looked at the state of the drone industry we found several problems. Most drone systems are so singular in purpose they are one trick ponies, heavy, slow, difficult to configure in the field, and have sensors wed to hardware. How does one deploy sensors at speed, and not have to be a trained drone pilot to use the solution?

Introducing the Rifinn drone system. Icelandic for raven, these birds are known for their ability to solve problems and also come in black. Our goal was to create an ultra-portable, extensible, stateless platform capable of solving every problem supporting the following value propositions:

•  Autonomous, ready to complete their mission and return unassisted

MIL LAB is our Skunkworks R&D division, an engineering arm of Black Swan Down that aims to redefine future formats and architectures for edge computing, connectivity in degraded environments, and personal protective gear (PPE) for first responders.
